IFAD-Uttaranchal Livelihoods Improvement Project for Himalayas (ULIPH) (2004-06)
Role : Manager– Monitoring, Evaluation and Communications.
Project targets 42,690 poorest households in 2400 villages in 5 mountain districts of Uttaranchal. Core approach– support vulnerable groups for micro-credit and sustainable enterprises through Sub-sector Business Development Approach. Key Achievements:
1. Communication

Developed brochures, manuals and posters about ULIPH for wide dissemination.

Prepared Project Manual under Right to Information Act 2005.

Coordinated preparation of Kalajatha (cultural campaign) on Aajeevika for project villages.

Coordinated preparation of fiction film on SHG and radio spots on Aajeevika.
2. Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation

Moderator – M & E email list for IFAD projects for Asia by ENRAP.

In 5 Blocks, designed, tested methodology for identification of most vulnerable villages and households using Sustainable Livelihoods Framework. Methodology now used in 17 Blocks.

Designed, implementing baseline data collection process to assess status of poverty and natural resources. Adapted Planning Commission’s scorable indicators on absolute poverty.

Preparation of Annual Work Plan and Budget and monitoring implementation.

Bamboo and Terracotta Artisan Programme (1988-89)
